Time and Talent

Well, I failed and missed a week already. Okay, I'm dusting my hands off and here we go again. All I can do is try.

Can you believe how quickly the year is going by. Already the 4th of July is here! Next thing you know it will be Christmas again with all that white stuff! (If you don't get snow wherever you live, you don't know what you're missing. I'm sure there are a lot of us that would be willing to donate some...)

Well, I hope that thought cooled a few of you off. With the diversity in weather areas, you would never know that some of us are in the same country even. For all you in the southwest I hope that little blurb about snow cooled you off. That's quite a heat wave you have going. And well, up here in the Northeast we've forgotten what the sun looks like. "What big yellow ball in the sky?" we ask.

Regardless of where you are and what it's like outside, I hope you're busy writing, or singing, or pursuing whatever talent God has gifted you with. There is no greater joy than serving Him with the gifts He has given!

A new page

Well, I'm turning over a new leaf (a new page in this case) and I am going to make every effort to post something new every week. (I'd say every day but that would be like setting myself up to fail.) So, if you stop by, please leave a comment, join as a follower, or just enjoy my verse of the day.

For today, my prayers are with parents everywhere (myself included), that we can be the guardians and teachers to our children that God has called us to be.

Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

To all my writing friends, happy writing and may you have a productive week, and to all my other friends, old and new alike, I pray God is with you in all you do this week.

God bless!

He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
Prov 19:8

One of the hardest things for me is figuring out how to divvy up my time. Work, home, family, church, writing, editing...there's just not enough time in a day.

Writing and music are so important to me. They're my way of witnessing... the gifts and talents He's given me to use for His glory. So as I struggle through this journey of trying to be published, I hope you'll pray that He guides me on the path He would have me follow.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Prov 15:3

Okay, you got me. I write inspirational romances, romances that touch not just the heart, but the soul.

The truth of every romance is more than skin deep. Check it out!

There is no greater romance than one that has God at the heart of it.

Beginnings

I started writing a novel ten years ago (along with the children's stories I was creating). At the time I thought it was pretty good.

Like so many other writers, life got in the way so I set it aside for a long time - like 7 years (while I watched my daughter grow up), then I picked it up again.

It wasn't as good as I remembered (LOL) so I did a major rewrite of the beginning of the story, then picked up where I'd left off. I finished writing that one in about 3 months, then wrote a sequel and two more stories after that.

I'm not published yet, but I'm getting closer. I've learned a lot in the past year and I'm hoping that this will be the year.

My writing may be a solitary occupation, but it's no fun to feel alone out here on a limb.
I hope you'll cheer me on in this journey. I'd love to have someone to share the success with as well as the disappointments.
