Calm the storm

And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full

And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow; and they awake
Him, and say unto Him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace; be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?

And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?
Mark 4:37 - 41

Are we fearful? He can calm any storm in our lives and give us peace.

How is your faith today?

  2. Great reminder of God's provision in the midst of fear, and our own self-doubt. That's what I suffer from...and I have to keep reminding myself, I am wonderfully, beautifully made - not because I'm "ME" but because I am "GOD'S". Great reminder of his power and divinity!! God bless you!

  3. The amazing thing in that story is that, prior to the storm, Jesus told his disciples to cross over to the other side. How could they not know that, if He said go to the other side, they WOULD REACH the other side? And I'm so like them, so many times...doubting through the storm, even when I know God has promised victory.

    Wonderful post, Donna!

  7. This is a great passage. A reminder: Instead of leaning on our fears, we should let go of them and trust in Him.
    Thanks I needed this!
