The Reason for the Season

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:1

So at the beginning of this holy season, let us all remember that Jesus IS the reason for the season.

It's not a "holiday" season, but a HOLY-day season. The gift of God's Son - the gift of God's forgiveness is what I celebrate.

What about you?

  1. His blessings are too many to count, like the stars in the heavens. I pray you have invited Him into your life that He may bless you too!

  2. Great reminder, Donna, of the beauty of this sacred season. I refuse to say Happy Holidays and embrace the PC thought process of Christmas. Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ, my Lord and savior. I won't buckle down on that truth whatsoever, and I loved that your post reaffirms that truth. God bless, and Merry CHRISTmas, dear friend!!

  4. Amen. I get so angry at places, stores, commercials et al that capitalize on Christmas but yet have to say "happy holidays." Jesus is king.

  6. Donna,
It's easy to get caught up in all the hoopla of the season--buying gifts, preparations, parties, etc.

Sometimes I have to make myself be still and remember it's not about all these things, but about a God Who loved us so much He sent His Son to this earth. A God Who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Here's wishing everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
